WWW Currentlydashandlilysbookofdares_cohnlevithanI saw that lots of people around the blogosphere were raving about this book, so decided to pick up Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares for myself. I am normally not into reading books that correspond with what part of the year it is, but this year I am kind of, sort of in the mood for Christmas, so I like that this book is set during the Christmas season. I haven’t read anything by these authors before, but in the 50ish pages that I have read, I really like it. The characters, although being sixteen year olds, are very unique and quirky. It is a short, sweet read, but I am excited to dive into it once I complete all of my finals.

sinner_maggiestiefvaterThe Wolves of Mercy Falls series has been fun, but I am now officially finished. The Read-A-Long was so much fun and I am so so glad that  I came across it, because I would never have decided to read the series, if not encouraged by the other readers. It was such a great series full of fantasy and romance and thrill. Definitely one of my new favorites and I can’t wait to read something else that Maggie Stiefvater has written.

WWW NextletitsnowI have decided that holiday books are now going to be a thing of mine. I work at a Barnes and Noble on my school’s campus and my cash register is right in front of the books. It is practically torture having to stand there and read all the titles and admire all of the cover art and never being able to actually read the synopsis’s of them. Well that all changed today. I wasn’t working today and I decided to go in a treat myself. So I bought Let It Snow and a few others and I am so ready to read them.

WWW Currentlysinner_maggiestiefvaterI have been enjoying the Wolves of Mercy Falls series and I am now officially on the very last one (so far!). Technically this one is a spin-off involving just two characters from the original three books, but it is still classified under the series name. So far I absolutely love this book. It is about my two favorite characters, Cole and Isabel. I loved them in the first three and was so thrilled when I realized they had a book to themselves. Their bantering is just too good and I could read about them all day… which I kind of do already.

linger_maggiestiefvaterforeverThe Wolves of Mercy Falls series has had be hooked from the very first word of Shiver. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like them, but as I read I fell in love with the characters and the portrayal of the werewolves and the town. The characters were just so likable and relate-able that I just couldn’t help but get sucked in. I would highly recommend this series, but I am super biased toward anything with a love story (which this has two)! I am extremely sad that the trilogy is over and I am about to be done with the spin-off as well, but it will definitely be a series I reread eventually.

WWW NextSince I was just hooked on a fantastic series, I kind of want to take a break from continuing another one, so The Mortal Instruments and The Maze Runner are out. During the holiday season, I want to read a good Christmas-y/Holiday-y book… preferably with a feel-good love story/romance. If you have any suggestions, I would love to heart them.

WWW Currentlylinger_maggiestiefvaterCurrently, I am participating in my first Read-A-Long which is following the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. So originally I had from the 15th till the 22nd to read Shiver, the first book in the series, but it was so good that I finished it yesterday, so this morning I decided to just begin the next installment. I am quickly becoming a huge fan of this series. The characters are so humorous and relate-able and the writing is just so fluid. I am already about 35% of the way through this one! So good!

shiver_maggiestiefvatercityofashes_cassandraclareYesterday I finished reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, which is the first book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Let me just say that I thought this book was incredible!! It was so enjoyable and I couldn’t even pinpoint any dislikes that I had; definitely recommend reading! A few days before that, I finished City of Ashes and, again, such a great novel! It was so full of adventure, action, romance, and humor… what more could I ask for.

forevercityofglassWell my future reading plans have shifted just a tad. After reading both City of Ashes and Shiver, I have decided to complete the Wolves of Mercy Falls series (which I have to do for the Read-A-Long anyhow) and then continue with the Mortal Instruments series, because I am just really, really into the Shadowhunter realm right now. Finishing the Maze Runner trilogy is no longer at the top of my list.

WWW Currentlycityofashes_cassandraclareIt has been too long since I was last submerged into the beautiful world of The Mortal Instruments. I read City of Bones this past summer and I have been dying to finish the series. Recently, I bought the next two books in the series (City of Ashes and City of Glass) and I could not be more excited to find out what happens next. So far I am really, really enjoying it. Simon has always been my favorite and, from what I hear, he gets a bigger part soon and I cannot wait!

leavingtime_jodipicoultSo I finally finished Jodi Picoult’s newest novel. It really left me feeling strange and iffy. I am not really sure whether I liked it or disliked it; honestly, I am somewhere in the middle. There were definitely some elements that I enjoyed, but the characters weren’t very likable or believable. The twist, I’d like to say came out of nowhere, which technically it did, but *hint* you can figure it out if you pay attention in the prequel. I am not really sure how I felt about the twist either. I am glad that I read it and will definitely read her next one, but this one just wasn’t my new favorite.

scorchtrials1After I finish City of Bones, I plan to read the next book in The Maze Runner series or The Da Vinci Code. I want to read The Scorch Trials to just find out what is in store for my friends that were stuck in the maze. I have so many series that I need to finish, so I think I am going to read them a little bit at a time. I bought The Da Vinci Code for almost nothing at the beginning of this year and have just never gotten around to it. I haven’t seen the movie, but I remember it being a huge deal and I would really like to get in on the debate.

WWW Currentlyleavingtime_jodipicoultI am super excited about having just started Jodi Picoult’s new novel, Leaving Time. I have been highly anticipating its arrival for what feels like forever and now it has come. I started it on Monday and am about 60 pages into it. Not quite my favorite yet, but I still have miles to go and anyone who has read a Picoult novel knows there is usually a surprise toward the end. I can’t even imagine where this one is going to go, but I am so ready to find out.

largerthanlife_jodipicoultActually, the last thing I read was Larger than Life. I read it in order to get myself pumped for Leaving Time (not that I wasn’t already). It was my very first novella to ever read. Normally I avoid books that are shorter than so 100/150 pages or so, but obviously I had to make an exception for the prequel to Picoult’s new novel. I have decided that not reading novellas is a stupid “rule” if you will. I don’t think I will read them all the time, but I feel that they have the potential to give good insight to the novel they either preface or follow. Larger than Life was a fabulous read and could have had a full blown story all to itself. It really did the job in getting me prepared for what was to come in Leaving Time.

WWW Nextcityofashes scorchtrialsThe next book on my agenda is going to either be The Scorch Trials or City of Ashes. I finished The Maze Runner a couple months ago in order to see the movie and although I didn’t like it much in the beginning, toward the end I was really getting into it. It seems to be that way with me and Dystopian book series– the first one is really good, the second keeps you on your toes, and the third one is a complete train wreck. City of Ashes is the second book in The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Although some people really didn’t like the books, I read City of Bones over the summer and really enjoyed it as well as the movie, so I plan to finish the series.
